Huron County Auditor Roland Tkach has announced that property value estimates for the 2018 revaluation are now available for review.

The new property values can be found on the auditor’s website at www.huroncountyauditor.org or by calling the auditor’s office at 419-668-4304 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Tkach is offering both an online and in-person informal value review to provide taxpayers the opportunity to review and have questions answered regarding their new property valuation.

The online informal value review will be available from Sept. 5 to Oct. 5 and can be found at http://huroncounty.propertyrevaluations.com. This site will provide frequently asked questions and a response form to ask questions or share concerns about a property’s valuation.

Appraisal staff will be available for informal value review in the auditor’s office, 12 E. Main St., Suite 300, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 24 to 28 and Oct. 1, 2, 3 and 5 and also 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 4. Staff members also will be available at the Willard Senior Center, 318 E. Laurel St., Willard, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 4 and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 5.

Tkach reminds residents all values are tentative. Final values will not be available until late December.

“The tax commissioner, Joe Testa, has ordered the every-six-year mass reappraisal for tax year 2018 payable 2019,” Tkach said. “The tentative abstract has been approved by the state and now we’ve set informal reviews for property owners.

“Don’t hesitate to give us a call with any questions,” the auditor said. “The website will be updated Monday, Sept. 10 and will reflect the new value changes.”
