CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — Tusculum University and King University student-athletes Mackenzie Butler and Shelby Zeiter, a pair of Edison graduates, were named to the 2017-2018 Women's Golf Coaches Association Division II All-America Scholar team in July.

Criteria for the WGCA All-America Scholar team include having a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 — and having participated in 50 percent of the team's competitive rounds.

Butler, a freshman last season, had a 3.76 cumulative GPA and is majoring in biology and pre-medicine. She is a member of the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll, Tusculum Athletic Director's Honor Roll, Dean's List and Charles Oliver Gray Honors List.

Butler played in 18 of TU's 23 rounds last season and posted an 89 scoring average while logging a pair of top-25 performances.

She finished 21st at the Bob Dibble Classic with a season-best 36-hole total of 84-89—173. She also tied for 20th at the Agnes McAmis Memorial with 86-85-84—255.

The Pioneers will open the 2018-19 season on Monday and Tuesday when they host the 13th annual Bob Dibble Classic.

King, also a freshman last season, had a 3.85 GPA and posted a stroke average of 89.61 over 18 rounds.

Her low round of the season, an 81, came in the second round of the King University Invitational where she finished with a low 36-hole score of 169. Zeiter also finished 42nd at the Conference Carolinas championship.

At Edison, Butler and Zeiter helped the Chargers win the Div. II state championship in Columbus.
