Norwalk girls open with two Invites

SWANTON — The Norwalk girls golf team competed in the Perrysburg Yellow Jacket Open on Tuesday, placing 12th out of 15 teams with a 429 score.

Anna Little led Norwalk with an 88, followed by Hannah Dumbeck (103), Noelle Jackson (119) and Carmen Krichbaum (119).

Also for Norwalk, Chloe Thomas carded a 120 and Scarlett Krichbaum had a 146.

On Monday, Norwalk opened the season by placing 10th at the Shelby Invitational at the Shelby Country Club.

Little finished sixth overall in the field by shooting a 95. She was followed by Thomas (123), Jackson (128) and Krichbaum (130).

Norwalk will be among the many teams at the Edison Invite at Thunderbird South today.

BOYS GOLF

Norwalk 166, Bellevue 183

CLYDE — The Truckers had no trouble in Tuesday’s Sandusky Bay Conference Lake division opener, besting the Redmen by 17 strokes at Sleepy Hollow golf course in Clyde.

For Norwalk, Carter Kluding was match medalist with a 38. He was followed by Zach Crane (41) and Gavin Koelsch (41), along with Noah Scheel (47) and Justin Sommers (47). Kyle Smith added a 49 for the Truckers.

Bellevue was led by Connor Rospert with a 41. He was followed by Layne Krupp (45), Hayden Foos (48) and Alex Martinez (49).
