Norwalk girls soccer remains unbeaten in SBC

Norwalk 2, Perkins 0

PERKINS TWP. — Kaelyn Harkness and Quinn Jaworski scored goals as Norwalk finished the first half of SBC Lake division play unbeaten following Wednesday’s win over the host Pirates.

The Truckers (5-2, 4-0) limited the Pirates (2-4-1, 2-1-1) to just one shot on goal in the win.

Oak Harbor 1, Edison 1

MILAN —The Chargers played defending SBC champion Oak Harbor to a tie on Wednesday in an SBC Bay division match. Edison’s (3-3-1) lone goal came in the second half from Savanna Smith with the assist from Brooke Yates.


Norwalk 10, Perkins 0

The Truckers picked up a huge SBC Lake division win over the Pirates on Wednesday.

Six players scored for Norwalk in the rout, led by Petie Adamos with four goals and Eli Cruz with two. Luke Kelly, Jerry Velasquez, Austin Obermeyer and Andrew McGinn all added a goal apiece. Kelly paced the Truckers with three assists, followed by Garrison Smith with two and Will Gelhausen had one. Zach Albright had five saves to shut out Perkins.

Oak Harbor 3, Edison 2

MILAN — The Chargers dropped a Sandusky Bay Conference Bay division match against the Rockets Wednesday night.

Nick Lombardi and Ian Jannsen each scored a goal for Edison. Dylan O’Dell and Lombardi each added an assist.


St. Paul 188, Margaretta 221, St. Mary C.C. 233

OXFORD TWP. — The Lady Flyers won a tri match with the Polar Bear and Panthers on Wednesday at Wousickett.

St. Paul’s 188 was a season-best, as Caitlyn Corrigan led the way with a 44. Gabby Scavuzzo shot a 46, Tori Pocos each had 49’s and Regan Olak 57.

The Flyers will play against Edison and Oak Harbor today at Thunderbird South. 

Edison 172, Huron 189

HURON — The Chargers stayed on the winning track with a 17-stroke win over the Tigers on Wednesday in a Sandusky Bay Conference Bay division match.

Edison (10-0) was led by Jordan Pruitt (37), followed by Jacque Butler (42), Zoe Grant (46) and Lauren Neher (47).


Columbian 157, Norwalk 158

TIFFIN —Just one stroke too many for the Truckers.

Norwalk lost an SBC Lake division match against Tiffin Columbian on Wednesday, falling to 11-2 on the season. Braden Nunez had a team-low 36, Jarod Kessler 38, Cam Nickoli 39, Jonah Mersereau and Grant Fisher 45 and Carter Kluding 46.

Mapleton 179, St. Paul 232

The Mounties got the better of the Flyers in Wednesday’s Firelands Conference match at Eagle Creek.

Nathan Juby carded a 55 to pace St. Paul, while Keegan Baker had 57, Joseph Swope 58 and David Swope 62.

St. Paul will play at the NWOSCA Invite at the Fremont Country Club on Saturday.


Willard 3, Edison 0

WILLARD — The Crimson Flashes won for a second time this week in SBC Bay division action, sweeping the visiting Chargers (3-7, 3-2) in three, 25-19 28-26 25-10.

For Edison, Grace Houser had 20 assists, 15 digs and seven points serving, while Jordyn Mitnik had 15 digs and nine points. Hannah Vitaz paced Edison at the net with nine kills and a pair of blocks, while Jessica Stoll and Macy Stower each had six kills. Natalie Lambert added seven digs and four assists, while Stoll also had 13 digs.

With the win, Willard improved to 7-2, 4-1.
