Plymouth rolls past Buckeye Central for second win

PLYMOUTH — The host Big Red wasted no time early and defeated Buckeye Central by a 470-7 final to improve to 2-1 on the season following Friday’s non-league win.

Plymouth scored three TDs in the first quarter and three more in the second to lead 41-0 at halftime en route to the win.

Walker Elliot had eight carries for 98 yards for Plymouth, while Lukas Montgomery added 12 carries for 92 yards.

The Big Red open their Firelands Conference schedule next week at South Central.

West Holmes 31, Bellevue 27

BELLEVUE — West Holmes edged the hosts Friday to drop the Redmen to an 0-3 start for the first time since 2005.

The Knights got on the board first as Cale Ogi ran in a score from 17 yards out.

Bellevue tied things up in the first quarter as Dalton Hay scored from five yards out.

West Holmes took the lead back to end the first quarter as Mark Biltz hit a 32-yard field goal to put the Knights up 10-7.

Bellevue came back to take the lead going into halftime, as Jake Holmer scored off a two-yard run.

In the second half, Bellevue increased its lead to 21-10 as Colton Ray score a 15-yard TD.

West Holmes pulled to within 21-17 to close the third quarter, as Shane Jones caught a 31-yard pass from Bridger Cline.

In the fourth quarter, Dalton Hay caught a 24-yard TD pass from Keegan Ray to go up 27-17, but the Knights came back with a pair of TDs, as Jones caught a six yard pass from Cline and Ogi scored from a yard out.

West Holmes was 29 for 45 through the air for 314 yards, while the Redmen were 14 for 29 passing for 201 yards.

Bellevue returns to action against Shelby next week.

Shelby 63, Willard 0

SHELBY — The Whippets routed Willard in non-conference action Friday.

It was the 91st consecutive meeting between the two longtime rivals, but the last matchup that is currently scheduled.

The Crimson Flashes (1-2) open SBC River Division play at Lakota next week.

Wellington 34, New London 22

WELLINGTON  — The Dukes defeated New London Friday in non-conference action.

The Wildacts return to action at St. Paul next week.

South Central 38, Crestline 13

GREENWICH — The Trojans jumped out to a 26-7 lead after the first half en route to a win over Crestline Friday.

Evan Legg was 9 for 16 passing for 112 yards passing and added 58 rushing yards and one touchdown. Freshman Kayden Hauler intercepted two passes, one of which he returned for a touchdown.

For just the third time since 1980 and the first time since 2006, the Trojans enter FC play with a perfect 3-0 record. 

The Trojans host Plymouth next week.
