By Norwalk Reflector Staff • Updated Jan 29, 2019 at 11:52 PM

In preparation for the severe weather Huron County will be facing the next three days, the Huron County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) has put a contingency plan in place.

The county has two shelters on stand-by to be activated in the event of county-wide power outages. If the need arises these shelters will be opened within thirty minutes of activation and their locations will be posted to the Huron County EMA’s Facebook page. Any questions or concerns should be directed to the office at 419-663-5772.

In addition, the New London Fire Department located at 30 Prospect Street, New London, will be available as a warming center only. They will not provide food or blankets.

The fire station will open if needed. It requested anyone in need of a warming center first contact the New London Police at 419-929-3504 before arriving on scene at the fire department.
