Distribution of supplies for both Norwalk Catholic and Norwalk city schools’ eligible children will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Salvation Army building on Whittlesey Avenue. Parents are asked to register their children at from 6 to 8 p.m. on either Monday or Wednesday. This year there also will be a registration at the Norwalk Area Food Bank from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday or 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 1.
Registration is necessary so that book bags will be packed with the required items for each grade level.
Stuff the Bus is in its 10th year or operation. A committee headed by Judy Sommers and including Carol Phillips, Reta Stark, Sharlene White, Debe Gelvin, Linda Monnes, Abby Keefer and Nicole Jones from Firelands Federal Credit Union have been working to get the word out to the community about the event. Last year, 333 children received school supplies and some of the local preschools received supplies for their classrooms.
