Erie Co. to supply school resource officer for EHOVE

AVERY — The Erie County Sheriff’s Office will provide a school resource officer for EHOVE Career Center for the 2019-2020 academic year.

The EHOVE school board approved the contract during its July 10 meeting.

In personnel moves, the board employed several people: Pamela Dickey, of Vermilion (part-time classroom/lab aide for the 2019-2020 school year); Gary Hitchings, of Port Clinton (regular part-time PEAK instructor on an as-needed basis through June 30); and Richard Kennedy, of Oberlin, and Brian Nickoloff, of Huron (part-time instructors on an as-needed basis from July 15 through June 30).

Also, the board re-employed Lena Lenhart as a full-time adult education workshop supervisor/trainer effective from July 1 through June 30.

In addition, board members approved various professional leaves, the updated OTA student handbook (which was presented during the June meeting), the employee tuition policy in the adult education handbook and five textbooks for three programs.

Finally, the board accepted the lowest bid from Truck & Sales Inc. in Norwalk for a 78-passenger school bus, the June financial report and various cash donations for April 1 through June 30.

The next meeting will be at 10 a.m. Aug. 14.
