EHOVE wins CBI Partner of Year award

AVERY — Personnel and school policies were approved at the EHOVE Career Center board of education meeting June 12.

The first item of business was assistant director Charlie Warthling’s recognition of EHOVE winning of the CBI Partner of the Year award. It is given by the Career Based Intervention Board of the Ohio Association of Career Technical Education organization.

 Following Warthing’s announcement, the board turned to personnel, beginning with retiring Superintendent Sharon Mastroianni. Effective Aug. 1, she will be the assistant director responsible for community and business outreach.

In other action, the board: 

• Hired Olivia Doughty, of Monroeville, and Brianna Young, of Norwalk, for summer general maintenance 

• Learned Deedra Fife, of North Fairfield, will serve as a summer school instructor

• Hired Kimberly Sines, of Norwalk, will be a part-time cafeteria worker for the 2019-20 school year and Michael Frado, of Norwalk, as a part-time instructor

The last personnel issue was the resignation of Chelsea Moyer as the curriculum and instruction technology coordinator, effective July 31.

The next board meeting is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. July 10.
