MILAN — Edison Local Schools has been praised with high academic accolades again, with a prestigious award from state’s education board for a third consecutive year.

The Ohio’s State Board of Education granted the Edison Local School District and Edison Middle School a 2017-2018 Momentum Award. Now in its fourth year, the Momentum Award is the State Board’s way of recognizing schools that received A’s on every Value-Added measure included on the Ohio School Report Cards. As a Momentum Award winner, Edison school’s report card shows commitment to its students’ success by ensuring students exceeded the growth expectations in English language arts and mathematics.

Edison was one of just 28 districts in the state to receive the recognition for three years (no district has received it four times). Edison Middle School is one of three school buildings in the state to receive this all four years since the inception of the award by exceeding expectations in student growth for the fourth year in a row.
