“We are proud to announce administrative changes at SCCS that will have an immediate and positive impact. In the coming year, 100 percent of our 2018-2019 leadership team will be graduates of our school. This speaks well to the quality education our students receive at Sandusky Central Catholic School and the desire of our alumni to make a difference,” said Geoff Palmer, head of school/president.
Ryan Wikel (class of 1999) will serve as the interim principal for the middle and high schools. He and his family live in Sandusky and his children attend SCCS.
“Mr. Wikel has been a member of our team for three years and is eager to assume new responsibilities in this leadership position,” Palmer said.
Toby Notestine (1971) will move from being a fifth-grade teacher to the dean of students and interim head football coach.
“Mr. Notestine has been a leader in the classroom and on the football field. Having retired from Sandusky City Schools, we are pleased to be able to utilize his leadership qualities to the fullest,” Palmer said.
Mike Roth (1970) will be the interim athletic director, following several years with Perkins Local Schools.
“Mr. Roth has a long history of operating quality athletic programs and we are honored to have him on our team,” Palmer said.
Paula Roth (1972) currently serves as the director of special education and oversees federal programs. She also will be the interim elementary school principal for kindergarten through the fifth grade. Roth previously served as the special education director and elementary school principal, following a career with Sandusky, Elyria and Amherst schools.
Lisa MacMurray (2001) came to SCCS in 2013 after serving at Monroeville St. Joseph for seven years. She will continue to be the director of preschool programming and testing coordinator. MacMurray will serve additionally as the assistant elementary principal over discipline in kindergarten through the fifth grade.
“These changes will go into effect immediately,” Palmer said. “We are confident that these leaders will do a wonderful job as they work with our students, families and our greater Sandusky community.”
