Students from Bellevue, Monroeville, Norwalk and Perkins high schools will attend the May 8 conference. The all-day event begins with registration at 8:45 a.m. and will end at 2 p.m. Students will be assigned to groups when they arrive at Monroeville High School.
“This will be a day full of forming new relationships, volunteering and learning how to be a strong leader,” said school counselor Jen Harvey, who also is a National Honor Society adviser at Monroeville.
Featured at the event will be three motivational speakers who have demonstrated leadership in their lives.
“The students will be split into groups and have the opportunity to bond with other students. The day will involve seven hands-on activities, such as making blankets for children with terminal diagnoses, and games that demonstrate how to be a leader. As students interact with each other, they will have the opportunity to learn more about other schools and their National Honor societies,” Harvey said.
The cost of the event — $12 per person — will cover lunch and will go toward handouts and the cost of activities.
