Norwalk Elks name Powers March student of month

Norwalk Elks No. 730 has named St. Paul High School senior Olivia Powers as the March student of the month.

Powers is the daughter of Dr. Michael and Monica Powers, of Norwalk.

Her achievements, extra-curricular activities and community involvement include: National Honor Society, Academic Ace Award, Academic All-Ohio, member of three-state relay teams, Silver Award in Girl Scouts, track, Writing Club and Student Ambassador. She has the honor of being in the Top 10 of her class.

Olivia Powers is employed locally. She redid the signs outside the clothing bank. Powers is active in her church as a Eucharistic minister and children's liturgy volunteer. She also volunteers at Fisher-Titus Medical Center and is a tutor for elementary students.

In her spare time she enjoys boating on Lake Erie, shopping with friends and doing puzzles.

Powers will major in early childhood education and intervention specialist at Mount Union University. She also wil run track in college.
