14 indicted by Huron County grand jury

An accused burglar and safecracker is one of 14 suspects indicted by a Huron County grand jury.

Anthony D. Reed, 28, of 2076 Hartland Center Road, Collins, was charged with one count each of burglary, safecracking and theft from a person in a protected class, all in connection with a June 26 incident.

The Huron County Sheriff’s Office handled the investigation.

Other suspects who were indicted Friday were:

• Richard Banks, 63, of Cleveland, on two counts of forgery and one charge of petty theft, all in connection with a June 25 incident

• Sammie L. Barnett II, 33, of 139-B. N. West St., on aggravated trafficking in drugs in connection with an April 11 controlled drug buy

• Ammerson C. Bates, 23, of 23 Grand Ave., Apt. 7-B, on domestic violence in connection with an incident from Sept. 29 through 30. The indictment states that Bates has two prior convictions for domestic violence: June 20 through Norwalk Municipal Court and Nov. 9, 2011 through Huron County Juvenile Court.

• Craig M. Buffa, 46, of Cuyahoga Falls, on improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle in connection with an Aug. 12 traffic stop

• Somsay Champasouk, 48, of 17 S. West Ave., Willard, on possession of heroin and permitting drug abuse, both in connection with a Sept. 10 incident. If convicted, Champasouk may be required to forfeit a 2013 BMW sedan to the state.  

• Anthony R. Cooper, 26, of 160 Railroad St., Plymouth, on aggravated possession of drugs and tampering with evidence, both in connection with a Sept. 19 incident

• Chelsea M. Dangler, 19, of Cleveland, on two counts of forgery, both in connection with a June 25 incident

• Toni C. Harris, 41, of 92 Benedict Ave., on aggravated possession of drugs in connection with an Aug. 28 incident. If convicted, Harris may be required to forfeit a scanner to the state.

• Alyssa L. Norman, 27, of 2071 County Road 302, Bellevue, on complicity in the commission of an offense and permitting drug abuse, both in connection with an Oct. 8 incident

• Logan A. Ogle, 23, of 13 Grand Ave., on carrying a concealed weapon in connection with an Aug. 5 incident. If convicted, he may be required to forfeit a “12-inch fixed blade” with a sheath to the state.

• Rebecka L. Reed, 39, of 517 Spring St., Willard, on theft from a person in a protected class in connection with a Sept. 6 incident

• Ryan L. Rang, 34, of 100 S. Main St., Lot 12, North Fairfield, on receiving stolen property in connection with an Oct. 1 incident involving a 2017 Hino van.

• Heather R. Stephens, 22, of 424 Spring St., Willard, on trafficking in heroin and possession of heroin, both in connection with a Sept. 10 incident
