The Norwalk Area United Fund is again sponsoring its Basket Basics Project to help out those in need.
Here is a letter the board of directors received following last year’s project:
“I was so delighted to get the bag of goodies,” the hand-written letter read. “I told the man that I thought I was getting nothing for Christmas — but the United Fund made sure I got something. Thank you so very much.”
The United fund collects items to hand out. Among the items needed are:
• Bath-hand soap.
• Shaving cream.
• Hair items.
• Toothpaste/tooth brush.
• Baby items.
• Laundry soap.
• Cleaning supplies.
• Paper towels.
• Toilet paper.
• Dish soap/dish towels.
• Oven mitts.
• Greeting cards.
You can call the office at 419-668-0269 and talk to executive director Linda Bersche for more information or stop by at 2 E. Seminary St. to drop any items off.
The United Fund has reached 38 percent of its 2019 goal. So far $149,505 has been pledged toward the goal of $390,000.
