In October, Nathan and Aimee Spaulding, of Olena, just south of Norwalk, opened the Honey Hole in the Avery Commerce Park across from Circle K on Milan Road.
“The inspiration behind the store was simply going to a town-wide garage sale that led us to the incredible opportunity to buy cheaper so we can sell cheaper,” Nathan said.
The family-owned business decided to open the store in Milan because it was close to all of the family members local towns and the name came from the slang location for a hidden place that has something valuable.
“One of the first our very first customer told us we were just like the honey holes he had back home,” Nathan said.
The store sells a wide range of products that are always changing. Some of their regular inventory includes household goods, toys, tools, furniture, decor small appliances and baby items.
“Everything we sell is brand new and about half the cost of retail,” Nathan said. “Our products may be in a damaged box or out of the box, but they are all new and our customers love the deals.”
The store also has a 24-hour warranty on the items it sells. Any perishables the store has in stock are donated to shelters if it’s not sold in time.
“We all know what it’s like to go to the store and not be able to afford the item you want, well our store offers you the opportunity to buy what you want in your budget,” Nathan said.
