Sweeties Chocolates selected as stop on Ohio Buckeye Candy Trail

• Sep 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM

ASHLAND — State tourism officials have unveiled the Ohio Buckeye Candy Trail.

And one of the stops is located in a county adjacent to Huron County — Sweeties Chocolates at Grandpa’s Cheesebarn in Ashland.

Just in time for fall and football season, Miami County Convention & Visitor’s Bureau (CVB) with TourismOhio posted the list on HomeGrownGreat.com. The website offers a downloadable map that outlines each stop and has details about each stop.

To entice travelers to pick up their appetites and hit the trail, Miami County CVB will be conducting a giveaway on social media to participants who use #BuckeyeCandyTrail.

The Ohio Buckeye Candy Trail is part of TourismOhio’s fall campaign, encouraging travelers to create their own holiday, or #FallidaysInOhio, this season with the travel inspiration provided on Ohio.org/Fallidays.

“The Ohio Buckeye Candy Trail is a great representation of the success that can be achieved when destinations and small businesses collaborate,” said Amy Daubenspeck, executive director of the Ashland Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We couldn’t be happier that Sweeties Chocolates/Grandpa’s Cheesebarn is part of this effort to encourage visitors to savor Ohio’s most original dessert this fall: the buckeye candy.”

Boasting more than 40 years in the business, Sweeties Chocolates is located at 668 U.S. Highway 250 E., Ashland. For more information, call 419-281-3202 or visit https://grandpascheesebarn.com.
