Willard blasts Hopewell for 11th straight win

BASCOM — Davon Triplett scored 10 of his game-high 16 points in the final quarter, helping the Willard boys basketball team to a 58-40 non-league win at Hopewell-Loudon on Tuesday.

Willard improved to 16-3 overall while winning its 11th straight game with the victory.

Cooper Parrot got Willard off to a 16-5 start, scoring 10 of his 14 points in the opening quarter.

The Flashes led 24-14 at halftime and 38-23 entering the final eight minutes.

Willard visits Edison on Friday in an SBC Bay Division matchup.

Colonel Crawford 60, New London 51

NEW LONDON — A big third-quarter run by the Eagles spelled doom for the Wildcats in Tuesday’s non-league contest.

Trailing by only 28-26 at halftime, New London (10-9) was outscored by Colonel Crawford (16-3) 21-13 in the third quarter.

Karson Howell had 16 points to pace the Wildcats who also got 10 from Ben Crawshaw. The Wildcats will visit Plymouth on Friday in a Firelands Conference matchup.

BELLEVUE — The Redmen dropped Tuesday’s non-league matchup to former Northern Ohio League foe Ontario.

Garrett Vickery and Caleb Marshall each had 10 points for Bellevue (6-12), which couldn’t match eight treys from the Warriors (11-7).

MILAN — The Chargers fell to 2-17 overall and 2-8 in the SBC Bay Division with Tuesday’s loss to the visiting Tigers.

Edison will host Willard (16-3, 8-2) on Friday in another league matchup.

TOLEDO — Casey Santoro’s 20 points led three Lady Red players in double figures as they routed Division I Whitmer in a non-league contest.

Cory Santoro chipped in 13 points and Payton Vogel had 12 for Bellevue (19-2) — ranked No. 8 in the final AP Division II poll, which scored 44 points in the middle two quarters.
