ASHLAND — The accolades and accomplishments continue to come in for basketball standout Ben Haraway.

The 2014 Norwalk graduate and redshirt senior guard on the NCAA Division II Ashland University men’s basketball team reached another milestone in the Eagles’ 77-66 defeat at Lake Superior State on Saturday in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.

With 10 points in the game, Haraway scored his 1,000th career point in an Ashland uniform, making him the 27th player in program history to reach the mark — though it took him less than three full seasons.

Haraway previously scored his 1,000th career collegiate point last season and now eclipsed the mark as an Eagle. After scoring 379 points as the GLIAC Freshman of the Year in 2014-15, Haraway transferred to AU, sitting out the 2015-16 season.

In 23 starts this season, Haraway is averaging 13.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals in 33.7 minutes per game.

The Eagles (19-4, 11-4 GLIAC) — ranked No. 15 in the nation — return action on Thursday at home inside Kates Gymnasium at 7:30 p.m. when they take on Purdue Northwest.

Ashland trails Davenport, Mich. by one game in the South Division standings, but is currently on track to host Northwood in a GLIAC conference tournament quarterfinal game on March 5.
