South Central's Blair scores 1,000th point

GREENWICH — South Central junior standout went over 1,000 career points in Thursday’s 64-35 win over visiting Monroeville in a Firelands Conference matchup in Greenwich.

Blair finished with a game-high 24 points on 10-of-20 shooting, while adding five rebounds, two assists and two steals. He takes 1,021 points into Saturday’s scheduled home FC game vs. New London.

Also for the Trojans, who jumped out to a 22-12 lead after one quarter, David Lamoreaux finished with 16 points, five rebounds, three assists and two blocks.

Isaiah Seidel added eight rebounds, five steals and four assists for South Central, which turned a 33-17 halftime lead into a 58-27 advantage through three quarters.

The Eagles (5-8, 2-6) were led by Eli Sweet with nine points. Chayce Schaub, Isaac Roeder and Gunner Howell each added six points.

Monroeville visits St. Paul on Saturday with a 1 p.m. junior varsity start.

SWIMMING

Norwalk splits at Cloverleaf

LODI — The Norwalk boys and girls swim teams came away with a non-league road split against host Cloverleaf on Thursday.

The Norwalk girls cruised to a 98-46 win, while the boys lost in close fashion, 70-67.

Finishing in first place for the Norwalk girls included seniors Sela Berry and Anna Little winning a pair of individual races. Sela won the 200 and 500 freestyle swims, while Little took first in both the 50 and 100 free sprints.

Junior Mara Berry won the 100 backstroke, while junior Carissa Link won the 100 IM.

In relay action, the 200 medley team of Mara Berry, Link, Elyse Coe and Megan Berry took first, as did the 200 free relay of Link, Coe, Sela Berry and Little.  Also taking first was the 400 relay of Mara Berry, Coe, Sela Berry and Little.

In boys action, senior Wyatt Dotson won both the 50 and 100 free swims, while senior Nick Smith won the 100 breaststroke.

The 200 medley relay of Justin Seitz, Smith, Griffin Brutcher and Jackson Cain took first, as did the 400 free relay of Dotson, Ethan Schmenk, Curtis Deiderick and Cain.

Norwalk is back in action at the Ontario Relays on Jan. 26.
