Lake Erie Wing Watch offers free, family outdoor activites

HURON — Calling all nature lovers.

The Lake Erie Wing Watch Family Weekend will be offering family fun in Erie and Ottawa counties this month. Geared toward anyone who enjoys birding, nature and being outdoors, all are invited. 

The free event will land in Erie County at Osborn MetroPark from 1 to 6 p.m. Sept. 22. There will be food trucks, retail vendors, non-profit groups, crafts, activities, speakers and more. Various field trips will be offered, as well as guided tours at various locations Sept. 22.

The Sept. 23 event includes a keynote speaker, Joe Dorrian, from the Ohio School of Falconry, who will talk about falcons and even bring one with him. There will also be opportunities for learn about citizen-science, become more comfortable with bats and even see animals from Back to the Wild.
