WILLARD — Herbert “Biz” and Beverly Brown are celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary.

Mr. Brown married the former Beverly Noble, of Willard, on Aug. 19, 1951, (birthday of the groom’s mother) at Grace United Methodist Church. Rev. John Herion officiated the ceremony.

At the time of their marriage, Mr. Brown was parts manager at Burras Motor Sales in Willard. He later was parts manager at Graham’s Chevy in Mansfield. Mrs. Brown originally worked as a beautician at Molly’s Beauty Shoppe, and later was an office worker at Midwest Industries.

Their first home together was an apartment at 610 Myrtle Ave., Willard. In 1953, they built their home at 711 Woodbine St., Willard, where they still reside.

They are the parents of Karen Shellhammer, of Willard, and Ken (Linda) Brown, of Willard. They have five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

They are active at Grace United Methodist Church in Willard and volunteer at the North Fairfield Museum. They enjoy traveling and have been to all 50 states, Canada and on a few cruises to the Caribbean. Biz enjoys golf, genealogy, and Sudoku puzzles. Bev likes to tend to her flower garden, feed the squirrels and birds, and visit garage sales.

A family dinner is planned to celebrate.
